(about the AL)
(excerpt)
According to our reliable data, György G a l á n t a i (xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx) non-party member painter, resident at 68/b Frankel Leó Street Budapest, II, publishes a samizdat publication with the title “Aktuális Levél” [Art Pool Letter] as part of the activity of his illegally operated “Art Pool”.
His basic concept for compiling the monthly “AL” is that everything must be said indiscriminately. A large part of the “unedited and uncorrected” writings criticise the activities of the official organs and are aimed at bringing them into disrepute. It targets the party’s cultural policy and policy in general. (…)
In the next issues of “AL” György Galántai is planning to publish several of his writings that were previously rejected by the official organs. One of his plans is that the August issue will be compiled for the 10th anniversary of the Chapel Exhibition in Balatonboglár, which was banned by the authorities in 1973. It can be expected that this issue will include documents and reminiscences about the measures taken by the council and the cultural organs, as well as about the police actions.
